Аудио к заданию:
− Hello, and welcome to this week’s addition of interesting historical facts. Today’s programme was about animals that travelled into space. As usual we present historical fact and then discuss it with the specialist. Today with us is the famous scientist Doctor Catherine Block. Good afternoon, Dr Block.
− Good afternoon!
− OK, here is the first fact. The first cat in space was a French cat named Felicette. In 1963 France launched the cat into outer space. It was a nice black and white female, just a street cat. She was launched in a special capsule on top of a French rocket. She didn’t go into orbit but during her 15−minute flight flew 160 km in space. Then the capsule separated from the rocket and came down by parachute. Electrodes implanted in the cat’s brain were sending signals back to Earth. Felicette survived the journey. Later the British press called her the Astrocat. This was the story and now let’s ask our guest a few questions about the cat’s flight.
